Sharing stores a copy of the draft and received feedback on our server in Frankfurt, Germany. A working reader link gives access to the shared copy and permitted feedback. Keep owner access private. Stopping sharing ends reader access and keeps the received work; permanent deletion is a separate action.
Using built-in AI also sends relevant content from an unshared draft through our server to OpenRouter and a model provider. AI processing can happen outside the European Economic Area. Read Privacy before bringing sensitive client material.
Read PrivacyAI use is measured by what each task costs to run, so longer drafts and bigger rewrites use more. Free accounts get a welcome allowance for their first 30 days, counted from your first AI use, then a small monthly allowance. Premium includes a monthly allowance 12 times the Free welcome allowance. Monthly allowances reset on the 1st of each month (UTC). Importing a file with comments uses the allowance too. A shared draft also has its own daily AI limit, and at busy times Draftland may pause AI for everyone for a while. When a limit is reached, built-in AI pauses until it resets, and the app shows when. You can keep writing and sharing.
See the current AI limits in Terms.Download a Word file, plain text or Markdown for your current draft. Export a JSON backup for browser drafts, Notes, versions and pictures. Tick Include sharing keys if you want to keep owner access to shared drafts, and keep that file private.
Markdown includes picture references, not picture files or saved wording alternatives. Use the JSON backup to keep the pictures with your browser workspace. PDF and Google Docs export are not available today.

No. They open a link, comment and suggest changes. They never pay.
You can write and review suggestions yourself. Built-in AI can prepare versions from feedback and offer rewrites. You do not need to connect an agent, but you can: ChatGPT, the Claude app, Claude Code or Codex can review a shared draft, where your plan allows connectors, and their suggestions and comments land in Review next to everyone else's. Like any reviewer, AI can miss the mark, and you decide what to apply.
Free drafts stay in this browser; export a backup any time. Premium saves them to your account across devices.
